Experience

Extensive experience in the mechanical, process, energy and environmental industries. John McCullough has acted as forensic engineer and expert witness in many cases of litigation, public inquiry and arbitration in the UK and abroad. He has acted as Expert in expert determination matters in the UK and abroad.

His expert experience relates to mechanical and plant failures, plant and process malperformance, personal injuries, accidents, fires and explosions, pollution and environmental issues, craneage and materials/ plant handling, difficulties in building plants and processes on time and to target costs. He also becomes involved in criminal cases with scientific or engineering aspect.

Technical subjects include: mechanical structures; power stations; pipelines; ductwork; welding; process air-conditioning; boilers; incinerators; furnaces; chimneys; automatic control; fan engineering; dust and fume handling; pollution control; waste handling; cranes; materials handling and transport; and machinery.

John McCullough has also been involved in combustion and chemical engineering research, failure diagnosis and trouble-shooting for a wide range of process, mechanical and construction industry clients.
