Experience Mechanical and metallurgical engineer with over 30 years experience: initially in stress analysis and research; latterly in waste management, incineration and forensic work. She has experience in failure assessments, fracture mechanics and fatigue, mechanics of materials. Sound theoretical knowledge as well as experience in preparing evidence for legal cases and public inquiries. She is also a qualified commercial mediator. Many personal injury cases including consideration of health and safety issues. Failure investigations of a variety of types of plant, including mobile crane, pipe supports in a major tunnel, bellows in a large diameter compressed air line, vibrator for plaster product manufacture, industrial heat exchanger. Most requiring preparation of evidence for civil litigation. Stress analysis - responsible for a variety of projects related to new design rules and behaviour of components under various loads. Many projects on waste management and disposal including feasibility studies, tendering for new plant and for waste disposal contracts, incinerator planning applications and public inquiries. Preparation of expert evidence on behalf of local authorities for public inquiries into incinerator applications. Preparation of Environmental Statements and phase 1 contaminated land surveys.
