Expertise

Mr Brown has 30 years of experience in various fields of engineering. Initial and early experience was gained in the petrochemical, process and energy industries. More recent experience has been in the building services sector.

Experience

CHP and Power Project – feasibility studies into CHP and generating plants, design and construction supervision of CHP and power plants.

Glengoyne Distillery - responsible for mechanical and electrical works associated with production expansion project. Acted as Lead Consultant and coordinated architects and civil engineers works. Project included replacement of spirit stills, wash backs and expansion of handling and storage facilities.

Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock - responsible for replacement of HPHW pipelines between Boilerhouse and main hospital building whilst maintaining heating and hot water generation at all times. Pipelines were over 800m in length and project was completed with no interruptions to hospital supplies and with no temporary boilerplant.

Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock - responsible for Run around Coil with heat pump boost and summer cooling project. Project resulted in around 40% energy saving on heating.

Stracathro Hospital, Brechin - new build steam boilerhouse. Included new boilers, multi core steel chimney, oil storage tanks and gas supply pipeline.

Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy - modifications and upgrading of wards, outpatients departments, paediatric and orthodontic departments during Stroke project.

Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy - new build CRMF Hospice.

Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy - refurbishment/upgrading of phase 2 Operating Theatres to incorporate laminar flow ventilation.

Perth & Kinross Area  - installation of heating and rewiring of 1139 houses. Project was completed at a rate of 25 houses per week.

Dundee - Claverhouse; various advance factory units for Dundee City Council. All factory units were occupied within 3 months of completion.

Primary School, Monifieth - Replacement of electric underfloor heating system with wet system utilising ceiling heating panels, LST’s and conventional radiators.

Ninewells Hospital, Dundee - introduction of standby pumps and by-passes to allow isolation of main concourse water storage tanks- this to allow removal and replacement of lining to concrete storage tanks.

RAF Leuchers, Fife - energy surveys and appraisals followed by implementation of several projects to reduce energy consumption- included new local boilerplant, decentralising of boilers, CHP assessments etc.

Dundee City Council - preparation of specifications for disabled adaptation projects.
