Experience

An Investigative Metallurgist with over 30 years experience in the Electricity Supply Industry and beyond.  Mr Pollock has extensive experience in a wide range of metallurgical failure investigations, gained across many business sectors.

Mr Pollock’s experience includes the management of the Metallurgy Group within Scottish Power’s Technology Business. He has provided technical consultancy and expert witness services to a wide variety of customers over a broad range of business sectors.

Professional Experience (Typical Examples)

Provision of Expert Witness Services – Litigation arising from delays in Heat Recovery Steam Generator construction and failures of Gas Turbines during commissioning of power plant.  Damages in excess of £125M.

Investigation of the catastrophic rupture of boiler feed pump discharge pipework involving serious injury to personnel.  Technical Expert to Panel of Inquiry.

Technical support to Killingholme Power Limited, refurbishment of plant & correction of CW problems.

Investigation of 60t Semi-Goliath crane failure, Caledonian Paper plc.
